Educational Software

As a classroom teacher, David Dutcher began developing educational lessons for students using instructional technology in the classroom. The results were very positive. Student content learning achieved much higher levels than the traditional paper and pencil or lecture methods; as a result, he began developing educational software.

 

 

One of his students had poor fine motor skills that interfered with handwriting ability. As a result, the student did not like to write or to do math activities. Consequently, Dutcher Resources began the development of “I CAN DO IT MATH.” The programs available for sale on this website were developed using Microsoft Word, Power Point 2003, and Crystal Graphics software. All of the activities in these programs involve straightforward point and click actions.

Although originally designed for students with special needs, all students enjoy the hands-on computer activities in these math programs – whether at the counting, addition, or subtraction level.

The programs are designed to be engaging, entertaining, and instructional. Although engaging, the math programs are “clean” and simple without distractions. The programs include animated numbers, color-coded place value, and some of the programs even have music. Each lesson contains ten problems. To extend the lessons there are instructions and printable worksheets for each program.
